Touring Bikes are made for street use only. A touring bike is built for comfort, as well as highway cruising and for longer trips. Their large engine ranges from 1000-1500 cc. their weight varies between 700-1000 lbs. These bikes are hard to maneuver, therefore they are not recommened for beginners. They are ideal for experienced riders who plan to use them for long distance travel. Touring bikes are not the ideal motorbikes for city travel either.
Sport Bikes: fall into a sub-category of street bikes. Many young drivers prefer sports bikes – just like they would prefer sports cars.. Sports bikes are made for comfort, convenience and performance. The engine size usually ranges from 600 cc to 1,200 cc. These bikes can weigh from 350 lbs to 500 lbs. They are light weight with good acceleration, breaks and tuning. These bikes are not meant for long trips.
Cruisers: they are one of the most popular types of motorcycles. These are the most popular styles of motorcycles, they can fit every budget and experience level. They can weigh between 450 lbs-1000 lbs. A cruiser is stylish and comfortable. These bikes are great for city riding as well as highway travel.
Dual-Purpose Bikes: they are known for their have knobby tires and a high center of gravity.They come with turn signals, headlights and emission control..Because these bikes weigh more than 350 lbs, they are great fro dirt road riding. They also offer the convenience of street riding. Most of these bikes come with 400 cc to 600 cc engines.
Motocross Bikes: These bikes are strictly for off road riding. These bikes are very light. They can weigh 150 lbs to 300 lbs. They come with small, 50-500 cc engines. They are cheaper than street bikes. Motocross bikes are great choice for recreational trips but not intended to ride them in heavy city traffic.
